Brighton Girls Cross Country Regional Champs

The Brighton Girls Cross Country team were Regional Champions on Friday, October 30th.  They took home the title with only 45 points followed by Pioneer- 71 and Pinckney- 78.  The team was lead by seniors, Jenna Sica and Kirsten McGahan, placing 3rd and 6th respectively.  The team is now getting ready for the State Finals at Michigan International Speedway on Saturday.

Girls Cross Country Update

Brighton Girls Cross Country had a great showing at the Legends Invite Saturday. They came in 3rd out of 14 teams and the top 6 ranked teams in the state were in attendance. Seaholm 57, Northville 73, Brighton 92. The girls were lead by senior Jenna Sica 8th running 18:19 (fastest time on our home course by a Brighton athlete), then sophomore Lexi Reynolds 12th running 18:41 (5th fastest in history) and sophomore Lauren Parrell 15th running 18:46(6th fastest in history).

 

The Brighton Girls Cross Country team beat Grand Blanc on Tuesday, 16-38.  The girls took 14 of the top 15 places in the race. The team was lead by Lexi Reynolds, Lauren Parrell, Jenna Sica and Andrea Crowe. The next race is the final dual against Milford on Tuesday, October 13th at Kensington Metropark.

Girls Cross Country Update

The Brighton Girls Cross Country team competed at the Jefferson Invitational on Saturday. They had a perfect score of 15, taking the top 5 places.  The top 9 girls finished in the top 16 of the race. The team was lead by Lauren Parrell, Lexi Reynolds and Jenna Sica, all running the same time. The girls compete again on Tuesday in their last home meet of the season against Hartland.

Girls Compete in Regional

The Brighton Girls competed in their Regional on Saturday and finished 2nd. 1- Milford 38, 2- Brighton 66, 3- Dexter 94.  The team was lead by freshman Lauren Parrell (4th, 18:56), junior Jenna Sica (8th, 19:27) and sophomore Sam Fusik (13th, 19:44).  This finish qualifies the team to compete in the State Finals on Saturday, November 1st at the Michigan International Speedway.  Please come out to cheer them on at 3:00 p.m.

Girls Win Lakes Conference Championship

We did it!  Brighton Girls Cross Country are the Lakes Conference Champions.  The girls competed tonight at Island Lake. 1- Brighton 46, 2- Milford 49, 3- Walled Lake Northern 90.  The team was lead by Andrea Crowe (3rd, 19:02) and Jenna Sica (5th, 19:14).  The next meet is at St. John’s Cider Mill for Regionals on Friday, October 24th at 5:00pm.

Brighton Girls defeat Milford

The Brighton Girls were victorious in a tight dual race against Milford tonight scoring 27-28.  This win confirms their division title for the KLAA West.  The team was lead by Kirsten McGahan, Andrea Crowe and Jenna Sica all coming in within 1 second of each other in 3rd, 4th and 5th.  The scoring runners were rounded out with 2 freshmen, Lauren Parrell and Bella VanBuren in 7th and 8th.  The JV team will be racing Saturday at Hudson Mills in Dexter at1:00pm.  The Varsity and JV will race again next Thursday, October 16th, at Island Lake for the Lakes Conference meet at 4:00pm.

Brighton Girls Defeat Grand Blanc

The Brighton Girls won their 4 straight dual meet against Grand Blanc today scoring a perfect 15-50.  The girls took the top 14 places at the meet.   The top two finishers were our outstanding freshmen, Bella VanBuren and Lauren Parrell in a time of 20:13.  The girls race against Milford next Tuesday at Huron Meadows at 5:00pm in their last home and dual meet of the season.

Girls Cross Country team in the Monroe Jefferson Invite

The Brighton Girls Cross Country team competed at the Monroe Jefferson Invite on Saturday, September 20th at Sterling State Park.  They won the meet with only 27 points in a field of 10 teams. 1-Brighton 27, 2- Saline 79, 3- Livonia Churchill 103.  The meet was won by Jenna Sica in 19:26 followed by Andrea Crowe, 2nd 19:47.  Our top 5 girls placed in the top 10.  The girls compete against Hartland on Tuesday at Hartland High School.

Girls Cross Country defeats Howell

The Brighton Girls Cross Country team defeated Howell today in their dual meet 16 – 47 at Three Fires Middle School.  The team was lead by Jenna Sica and Kirsten McGahan.  The girls took 11 of the top 12 places.  They compete again Saturday at the Monroe Jefferson Invitational at Sterling State Park in Monroe at 10:30am.
